OXY Seaweed Power Deep Calm Balm Review

Believe it or not, I picked up this little gem by accident in Sam Macaulay's chemist one day. It was reduced from €7.95 to €3.97 and it is the best moisturiser I have ever come across.
When I'm picking a moisturiser I tend to look for lighter ones as I feel thicker ones leave my skin looking oilier than it is, and obviously takes longer to soak in when I just want to rush in and apply my primer and foundation. I usually go for a 'simple' one, ones that aren't harsh on young skin.
However, since discovering this moisturiser I wouldn't go past it again. It's has a remarkable impact on my skin and I am very impressed.
The moisturiser itself isn't very heavy, but from what I'm used to I'd describe it as heavier. It has a peculiar scent to it, not unpleasant in the slightest but not a scent I love to smell everyday, however the scent vanishes from skin almost immediately as does the product itself. It soaks into the skin within a minute and you're then left with a perfect base for your foundation as many people use it as the 'perfect' primer.
I personally don't as I like to use catrice primer, and a serum under the moisturiser but from my first use I fell in love with the OXY moisturiser.
It leaves your skin feeling incredible silky and my skin has never been as soft or smooth as it is now. The product also has natural seaweed and pro vitamin B5 in, so perfect for sensitive skin.
It also helps reduce the bacteria which causes spots and reduces redness.
If I go out in the wind without make up on my cheeks get EXTREMELY red, they burn up but the minute I come in it's straight to OXY and immediately reduces my ehm 'rosy' cheeks.

About The Product:
The product itself is an oil free moisturiser, built to help acne prone skin and reduces redness with its natural seaweed and vitamin B, which us Irish people don't tend to get enough of anyway!!
As it's oil free, it doesn't leave a wet or 'greasy' look on your skin. It's used to unblock pores and it makes skin so soft and silky.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this product.
I love my make up and rarely left the house without make up, but since using this product twice daily, it's given me a lot of confidence and I can now leave the house without a scrap of make up on a regular basis!!
It may not suit all types of skin, but for me.. two thumbs up 100%!!

Take Me There: Honolulu, Hawaii

My newest section to the blog is called 'Take Me There', a post I'll be writing during the week of places I'd most like to visit in the World and starting today is the home of my favourite TV show Hawaii Five-O and it's capital city Honolulu, and isn't it gorgeous!!!
I'm the type of person who wants to go to places with adventure, and places to go and visit, once in a lifetime places, but with Hawaii..I want to go there for no reason other than it's gorgeous!!!
However, that being said I wouldn't say no to sunset beach yoga, or watching the sunset from the Magic Island and of course, test my arm at surfing!!!
So basically, if anyone wants to come to Honolulu with me, please enquire within, I'm heaps of fun!!
AND.... my future husband just so happens to live there... Mr Steve Mcgarrett...
So, when do we book?!!!

Exclusive Interview With Top Fashion Stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick

Gorgeous fashion stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick is one of those ladies who every single female out there can aspire to be like, I absolutely adore Lisa and was so excited to chat to Lisa about everything she's been through and how she got where she is today. Not only is Lisa one of the country's top fashion stylist's she's also an author, a radio broadcaster AND a TV presenter, she is one busy lady!!! With a client list the side of China I was bursting with questions to ask Lisa!!
So you learned from my intro that Lisa is an exceptionally busy woman, I personally struggle with one thing going on don't mind doing that kind of multitasking so I asked Lisa if she has some sort of superpower... I'm sure we were all thinking it!!
''You make me smile Lynda it's called Time management I make it work, it's all about getting through my lists crossing off as job done makes me feel good''
I could definitely do with some sort of time management in my life!!
On a typical day Lisa doesn't exactly live the glam life we all expect her to live ''I never ever wear make up when I'm off I love fresh clean skin it's a typical day Monday - Friday I work and collect kids everyday I'm a taxi driver 2-5''
Well Thank God for that!!However I think if anyone saw how I rocked up to business grinds this morning they'd question why I didn't throw on even a bit of concealer!!
From someone interested in fashion from a young age, once again if you saw how I presented myself this morning you wouldn't think so but for Lisa it wasn't always a love of fashion from a young age ''It happened for me when I started in retail ladies fashion at 19 loved it never wanted shop to close''
But what actually does the life of a stylist entail? what does it take to be one you may ask???
''A Broken back from carrying bags of clothes and stares from people who think I'm like the girl from legally blonde who shops sadly I give them all back,
If you want to be a stylist be one don't talk about it Do it !!!''
Yikes!!! but Lisa tells me she LOVES her job, and we can all do it!!
''Absolutely I love my job every second of it Love it. Yes I'm lucky to have it but I made it happen so can you and your readers Followers''
However like most jobs it has it's ups and downs, and the worst part, well...Yes, It would break my heart too!!
''The Best part of my job is people coming up and saying 'Hi Lisa I know you from the Telly' I love that , but the worse... giving back all the fab clothes''
What did I tell you?...heartbreaking!!
Lisa didn't go to college, and is a prime example that you don't have to go to college to be a massive success and it won't stop you from living your dreams BUT, Lisa does admit she wishes she did get the chance to go:
''I would have loved the opportunity to go to college and will encourage my children and your readers to do the same, but along side studying I believe it's important to do as much work experience in every field possible and get a part-Time job it's good for you.
I did a health and fitness course for two years and I loved it, but realised it wasn't going to be my chosen career but it suits the right people who are incredible trainers like Dominic Munelly who helped me get from size 20 to size 12 I lost 5 stone under his supervision great guy''
With the leaving cert coming up and students stressing over their CAO forms, Lisa recommends not stressing out and keeping calm:
''Don't stress take your time all the work will pay off, Meditate!''

Lisa is author of two Irish best selling books her first book 'Enjoying Style and Fashion' and her hugely popular second book 'Diet SOS' but Lisa admits she never imagined the success that would follow:
''I Never ever thought about becoming an Author until one day I decided to answer all the questions Ireland am Viewers and Derek Mooney listeners always ask me and Nk Management made the rest happen I feel so happy seeing my books on shelves''
Lisa has such a beautiful elegant style but her advice for being stylish is very simple, Lisa recommends sticking to what you know and feel your best in ''If you're comfortable in what your wearing it shows be yourself''
With the new year coming, Lisa recommends having a clear out before you shop and keeping yourself positive for the new year!! ''Have a positive attitude in all you do, De-Clutter wardrobe before you shop Don't buy trends wear what works for your body''

With an obvious entrepreneurial streak running through Lisa owning her own business before becoming a full time stylist, Lisa admits her dream would be.... to become Beyoncé.... wouldn't we all!!!
''I had my own clothes store my own Hair Dressers, I would like to be a singer but I don't have a singing voice I would love to be Beyonce who wouldn't''

Finally, before I leave Lisa back to her day I had to ask what's the best advice ever been given to Lisa that she can pass onto us today:
''I have two ears one mouth listen twice as much as I speak and I never do ever''
Advice I think I should really start paying attention too!!!! haha
Massive thanks to Lisa taking out her time to answer these questions!! Such a pleasure, thank you Lisa xx
Don't forget you can also catch Lisa on various ways:

He's from England BUT he spent many a summer in Cork....PLAYING RUGBY!!!!!! he even went professional for a while before becoming an actor.
There's actually not much else I can say other than HAPPY MONDAY...
Enjoy ;-)

Before You're 20 F**ck It List!!!

I love a bucket list, I do!! I don't always stick to them but I like them.
The last time I had one was for summer 2012 and things I had to  get done that summer, things for example:
Go to Tramore, Stay up all night and go fishing!! - Things I've now done, many times over (especially the all nighters... them Geography tests used to kill me) but then it hit me.
My bestest friend in the world turned 20 last weekend, and now this August it will be my turn to leave teenage hood, and before I leave my childhood, I decided I would make a 'bucket' or in other words a 'f*ck it' list.
It started off great, I wrote down my heading 'My Before I'm 20 F*uck It List' - and long story short, that's where it ended...
I was blank.
I mean, what is there to do that you can only get away with it in your teenage years, but not in your twenties?! (Christ, saying 'twenties' there scared me) but really what is there?!!!
So what do I do??- I turn to good old Google and see what they can tell me to do...

The Google, Before I'm 20 F*uck It List

1. Get a job, any job. It doesn't matter if you hate it just say you have a job.- Well, kindaaaaaa
2. Pass your driving test. - Touchy Subject!!
3. Fall in love and have your heart broken.- HA HA HA HA HA
4. Have your own ID. - Okay, I'm working on that!!
5. Write a letter to yourself, and open it when you're 20 - I might, I might
6. Learn to have a basic conversation in another language - Hello..basically fluent in Spanish (If of course you follow MY script)
7. Learn to cook your favourite meal - Chicken, spuds and chicken soup...I'm learning it!!
8. Vote- I'm surprised I haven't actually
9. Sleep under the stars (camping)- Now this, we've tried. Even though we did end up breaking down my back door and sleeping on the sofa's at 5am.
10. Learn one really cool trick/card trick- I've tried, I've tried and tried again but this is just not my thing, I can't manage it.. BUT for the sake of this list, I will try again.
11. Meet a celebrity- Well, yes I suppose you could say so, rugby players are kind of famous aren't they?!  I met Laura Whitmore who was my idol, Silé Seoige, Courtney Smith.. and I've talked to lots so tick!!!
12. Go to college - *breaks down into tears (this time next year!!!)
13. Go to a nightclub- Well, in my town we have 'the disco' not so much a nightclub BUT I do remember my first time in the disco. It was New Years Eve 2013, with Annmarie and Carrie and it ehm didn't end up so well (Literally LOL'ing to myself right now)
14. Go golfing: My best friend is basically a professional golfer so we go quite often as a group of four. I can't hit the ball and it usually ends in a dispute but yeah! I've played golf... another tick!!
15. Spend a whole day playing board games with your friends - Pha NO. That's NEVER going to happen, nor do I actually want that to happen, NOOOOOO!!!!!
16. Volunteer in a nursing home, hospital, charity shop etc: In transition year in school we had to do community service for 13 weeks in a nursing home. I learned a lot but personally, not a very enjoyable experience.
17. Go to a concert- I've been to a few now, but my most recent and most favourite was Kings Of Leon and Kodaline in Marlay Park, July. It was hand on my heart the best night of my life (until we got lost on the side of the road somewhere in Dublin)
18. Get a bra fitting- Well it's not the wildest thing you'll do as a teenager I admit, but it is important!!
19. Write a letter to one of your living heroes- This is something I love doing, as someone trying to get into the media industry you talk to many inspiring people but I love this idea of actually writing to your hero. They may or may not reply but it could actually show you why you admire them and learn so much from what you even write. (I wrote to the president when I was around 8 inviting her for dinner, I got a letter back mind you..but no dinner)
20. Put someone else's feelings before your own- bleughhhh...whatever
21. Go on a road trip with friends: This is something I need to do!! Kind of hard since I don't drive, and my friends don't either, but it's something that will stay on my list!!
22. Go on a holiday with no parents, just friends-Working on it ;-)
23. Say I love you- Yeah say it to friends/parents but be in no rush to say it to anyone else people!!!
24. Buy a lottery ticket- WHY HAVEN'T I DONE THIS?!!!

Okay, so you may have realised by now, it's not really a 'F*ck it list,
Maybe more a, well I don't really know what it is, BUT I think from writing it do as much as you can, make good choices! Live your life to the fullest and enjoy your friendship! Because trust me, there's nothing like the friends of your youth!!
BUT!! If there's anything you recommend doing before you're 20, please comment below :)

Limerick Live

Last Monday I wrote a post which has probably been my biggest successful post ever, not because it received the most views (which it didn't) but because of the feedback I've received and the opportunities that have risen from it (Irish Education System)
The edited edition was published in the Limerick Leader, and I was then contacted by Limerick's no.1  radio station Limerick Live95 fm to come on air and discuss my opinions on the system, and debate it with a journalism student in Galway, obviously I jumped at the chance as I appeared on air earlier this morning.
The thing that made me laugh the most was that, in my previous post about the education system, I included this picture of Conor Murray in the Limerick Live studio and that's where I actually was this morning. Speaking on air in the same studio. It was great!!
It was my first proper time on the radio, and it really allowed me to get a feel of the job. I got to put on the headphones, speak into the microphone, I really loved it and it made me even more determined to pursue a career as a radio presenter.
I stayed in Limerick over night as I had to be in the studio for 9am, on air around quarter past. I can handle my nerves quite well but I was pretty nervous, not as nervous as when I met Conor Murray mind you but from the minute the headphones went on I felt at home, like this is what I always do. I debated my view with journalism student Nollaig and it was very clear we had very different opinions but that's what made it all the more interesting.
You can listen to the debate here - > http://utv.vo.llnwd.net/o16/LIVE95FM/2015/01/22/NollaigandLyndadebate.mp3
Huge thanks to Alan English of the Limerick Leader, Anne Marie Geheraty and Joe Nash for having me on air.

It's Disney Time

I suppose you could say I'm not a real Disney princess because I don't sing all the songs, I've never seen Frozen and I've no intention of it either, but Lord be with the days where Cinderella was my queen, Goofy made me howl with laughter and I was never be able to watch the end of Bambi because I'd cry to much.
Yet 19 years on, I still love a sneaky House Of Mouse on a Saturday morning and remember every inspirational quote Disney taught me..
I love a good quote now and then, and I figured at the start of a brand new week why not start it off with some amazing quotes, so here are some of my all time favourite Disney quotes...
Although I love all those quotes, one thing that always got a grip on my heart was good aul Winnie The Pooh, and nineteen years on my love for Pooh bear is still as strong.
As a matter of fact, myself and Christopher Robbin share the same birthday of August 21st and on August 21st 1921 Christopher was given a teddy bear and so the tale goes on...
Here are my favourite quotes from Winnie The Pooh...
